Kenya Coast Experience
Wasini Island and Kisite — a private marine day from Diani
Wasini Dolphins + Seafood Lunch from $80 · Kisite Marine Snorkel from $70
WhatsAppThis is our flagship marine day from Diani Beach: morning time on the water looking for wild spinner dolphins, reef snorkelling at Kisite Marine Park, then seafood lunch and quiet village time on Wasini Island.
One coast day, two waters
Wasini Dolphins + Seafood Lunch from $80 and Kisite Marine Snorkel from $70. Many guests take them as one coherent private day unless you ask us to split the focus. Your WhatsApp quote states what you pay.
Prefer a Wasini-only morning? See Wasini Island. Prefer reef-first? See Kisite Marine Park. This combined page is the primary story.
Private hosting — not a crowded group deck
Popular group day trips exist on the south coast. Ours is framed differently: a private, local-hosted marine day from Diani — conversation first, then the water, paced around your party rather than a shared loudspeaker schedule.
Dhow or boat options depend on sea state and your dates.
We are Tuzuru Afrika, based in Diani Beach. Kenyan operator, est. 2018. Transparent pricing applies: itemised quotes, no hidden fees.
Wild dolphins — honest expectations
We look for wild spinner dolphins in the morning light. They are wild animals. Sightings are never guaranteed. Weather, sea state, and the animals’ own routes decide the morning — not a marketing line.
If someone promises dolphins every time, treat that promise the way we treat impossible safari prices: with scepticism. We still take you out with a host who knows these waters — Joseph, our marine and wilderness host, has years on Wasini mornings, Kisite reefs, and dawn inland when the journey calls for it.
Watching from the boat with respect is always the baseline.
Kisite — reefs for snorkellers
Kisite is the marine snorkel half of the day: coral gardens, clear water on a good day, and time in the sea with guidance suited to your confidence. Beginner-friendly pacing is possible when we know your comfort in advance — tell us honestly before we leave the beach. Confident snorkellers can ask for longer water time when conditions allow.
Sea state and visibility change with weather and season. We do not promise aquarium clarity every day. For month-by-month orientation (not live forecasts), see best time to visit Kenya.
Wasini lunch and the coral-stone village
On Wasini Island, lunch is part of the story — seafood by the water. The coral-stone village is not a theme park: walk gently, ask before photographing people, and leave the place as you found it.
Who it suits
Couples and honeymooners who want salt air and a long lunch. Families with children who are steady in the water under supervision. Solo explorers who prefer a host to a loud deck. Anyone prone to seasickness should say so early — we can advise on timing and seating, not medical cures.
How it folds into a wider journey
This marine day pairs naturally with other south-coast experiences:
- Map of Africa at Tiwi — tidal coral pool, low tide only
- Kongo River canoe — mangrove sundowner from Diani
- Fort Jesus & Old Town — Mombasa heritage day
- Private Kenya safari — Amboseli, Tsavo East or Mara days from the coast
- Destination context: Diani Beach guide
- Coast-and-bush framing: Kenya safari and beach
- Longer sample outline: Swahili Soul — 8 days

How to book — WhatsApp first
WhatsApp us your dates, party size, swimming comfort, and any dietary needs. Say whether you want the combined marine day or a single focus (Wasini lunch or Kisite snorkel). We send an itemised private quote — you see the price, you pay the price.
Are dolphins guaranteed?
No. Spinner dolphins here are wild. We plan the morning for the best chance we know — we do not guarantee sightings, and neither should anyone else.
Is this a private day or a crowded group tour?
Our positioning is private, local-hosted from Diani. Popular group marine days exist elsewhere on the coast; ask us on WhatsApp how your boat and pacing are set for your party.
Dhow or boat — which will we use?
Depends on conditions and what we confirm for your dates. Your WhatsApp quote names the craft.
Is Kisite suitable for beginner snorkellers?
Often yes, when we know your comfort level in advance and pace the session kindly.
What if I get seasick?
Tell us before departure. Morning seas are often kinder; seating and timing help. We do not give medical advice — bring any remedies your doctor recommends.
Can you arrange a vegetarian or vegan lunch?
Ask when you book. Seafood is the headline; plant-based options need a clear request so Wasini partners can prepare.
